Robinson López, former president of ACIMVIP, takes part in COICA's annual meeting with the presidents of nine countries
On 7 March 2017, OPIAC Comunica published on YouTube the video «COICA Robinson Lopez», which records the opening of the annual meeting of the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA) with the presidents from nine countries. According to the description, the planned topics were the strengthening of organizations, territorial security, cooperation, the Indigenous economy and economic alternatives, technologies for territorial management, and joint planning between COICA and the presidents of the member organizations.
Robinson López Descanse, who is identified in the video's title, was president of ACIMVIP. On 23 February 2017 he took part, as Human Rights coordinator of OPIAC, in the International Forum on Prior Consultation in Bogotá, and ACIMVIP's records later remember him as Climate Change and Biodiversity coordinator of COICA, on whose behalf he took to California the message of the Amazonian Indigenous Peoples on forest conservation and climate change. ACIMVIP, which forms part of the community's own organizational structure together with OZIP, OPIAC and COICA, preserves his memory and legacy.
