The wise woman María Mutumbajoy Sigindioy returns to the bosom of the earth
ACIMVIP extends its greetings of solidarity and deep sorrow for the passing of the wise elder of the Inga Indigenous Reservation of Nukanchipa Alpa Amukunapa Wasi, María Mutumbajoy Sigindioy, may she rest in peace. At 86 years of age, the grandmother, wise elder, and founder of the Cabildo Nukanchipa Taita Kausadiru departed this earthly world to return to Nukanchi Mama Alpha, Our Mother Earth. The elder, a wise woman of the Inga Reservation, was distinguished by her example and teaching, her sharing, hospitality, kindness, and friendship. She leaves her legacy in her daughter, the teacher Luz Angelica Sigindioy, her other children, and her grandchildren. Danny Martínez, one of the young leaders, who shared many years of his life with her since his birth, remembers his grandmother with deep sadness; he received her love, and in return the young Inga Indigenous man Danny Martínez, thanks to her example of struggle, was able to share each of his achievements with her.
To the community of the Inga Indigenous Reserve of Nukanchipa Alpa Amukunapa Wasi, each of her experiences, her counsel and her spiritual support drawn from her knowledge are a material and immaterial legacy that must be passed on to each generation of young people, children and members of the community and of the Reserve.
Thus the Inga family of Villagarzón will always uphold her counsel and put into practice the legacy of her wisdom; it is hoped that this will be reflected in every action for the benefit of the communities that now make up the Inga Indigenous Reserve of Nukanchipa Alpa Amukunapa Wasi, the Ancestral territory of the Inga People of Villagarzón.
