Handover of the Sacha Muiu canangucha processing plant

ACIMVIP and the Sacha Muiu Association of the Inga People of Villagarzón, led by Carlos López Descanse, the professional support team and the executive committee, in the presence of the general coordinator of Visión Amazonía, Yunis Mebarak, held the traditional inauguration of the Amazonian fruit processing plant on 2 February 2023 in the local rural zone San Vicente de Villarica (Villa Rica), in Villagarzón. The inauguration took the form of a traditional event that opened with harmonisation by the traditional authorities of the Inga People, followed by a typical musical performance of the Inga People, after which Carlos López and the traditional leaders of each community thanked and congratulated those responsible for and the funders of the project.

It is expected that, as one of the only processing plants, it will be able to advance and consolidate itself in the National and International market, continuing its essential and comprehensive contribution to the care of the forest, the protection and safeguarding of the ancestral territory and the improvement of the quality of life of its members, municipalities and other communities interested in this own-economy model.
