Annulment, colonisation and false doubts about our ancestrality
The defence of the Nukanchipa Alpa Amukunapa Wasi Reserve against those who deny that the mountain is ours.
What we defend
The Reserve constituted on 28 January 2020 over 30.803 hectares of the mountain of the masters, confirmed on 15 July 2020. According to the agreement that confirmed it, its area does not coincide with the lands claimed by the appellants and it has no third-party registry history.
The annulment action is part of a long history of occupation of the territory, which began with the colonisation of 1940 and continued with the extractive booms, the coca of the 1980s and the armed conflict. We maintain that ancestral possession is not measured by the civil rules of time, but by the history, the paths and the sacred sites of the People.
The proceeding is on appeal before the Council of State; the Reserve remains in force. On 9 July 2026 the Court terminated the proceeding because the claim did not meet a prior requirement. It is not a decision on the merits: the claimants appealed and the Council of State will decide.
