ACIMVIP denounces before the UN the violation of the prior consultation and autonomy of the Inga People of Villagarzón

ACIMVIP's statement on the violation of the right to prior consultation and of the Inga People's autonomy through the granting of oil blocks and environmental licenses to multinational companies, with a request for international intervention. It presents community assemblies, mobilizations, traditional rituals, maps showing the overlap of the PUT 1, PUT 10, Chasa and Piedemonte Norte blocks with the reservations, and the reading of the authorities' autonomy mandates. It mentions the Ministry of the Interior, the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) and the companies Gran Tierra Energy and Emerald Energy. The authorities announce the suspension of prior consultation processes until the mandates are met and request the intervention of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
