I Suma Iuiai Nukanchipa Alpamanda Forum: training of the Inga People's Wasikamas in rights, environment and territory

On June 29 and 30, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ACIMVIP held at its headquarters in Villagarzón the Forum Suma Iuiai Nukanchipa Alpamanda «Thinking beautifully for our territory», as part of the project to strengthen the Wasikamas as a figure of territorial authority and environmental defense, with support from the Norwegian Human Rights Fund. According to the agenda, the forum sought to empower the environmental authorities of the Inga People of Villagarzón with theoretical reflections and technical tools for the environmental and ecosystem management of the territory. It addressed prior consultation, the Amazon as a subject of rights, the National Environmental System, carbon markets, the climate emergency, the fight against deforestation and knowledge of the flora and birdlife of Putumayo, with speakers from OPIAC, Asociación Ambiente y Sociedad, DAR, The Nature Conservancy and the SINCHI Institute.
