The Inga community of Villagarzón commemorates in San Miguel de la Castellana the fourth anniversary of the passing of Robinson López, leader of the Inga People of ACIMVIP

On 21 August 2024 the Inga community of Villagarzón gathered at the Inga Indigenous Reservation of San Miguel de la Castellana to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the passing of leader Robinson López Descanse, who died on 21 August 2020. Noticias Putumayo reported on the gathering and Mi Jota Producciones recorded it in the video «Cuarto aniversario, Robinson López, líder del Pueblo Inga».

Robinson López Descanse was president of ACIMVIP: the Association's records identify him as president of the first Executive Committee, elected at the founding General Assembly in June 2004, and as president in 2014, when he convened the III Intercultural Meeting of Indigenous Peoples in Villagarzón. He was also Human Rights coordinator of OPIAC and Climate Change and Biodiversity coordinator of COICA. ACIMVIP maintains the preservation of his memory and legacy among its processes, and on 26 September 2026 it published on its YouTube channel a posthumous tribute with his speeches.
