Song in Inga by students of IERBI Atún Ñambi, Resguardo San Miguel de la Castellana

Students of the Inga Atún Ñambi Rural Bilingual Ethno-educational Institution (IERBI Atún Ñambi), of the Inga San Miguel de la Castellana Reservation, in Villagarzón, sing in the Inga language in a classroom, standing in a line against the wall, accompanied on guitar by an adult; several wear red scarves or kerchiefs. It is a 1 min 23 s recording in a single take, without captions or spoken interventions other than the singing.

IERBI Atún Ñambi is the Inga People's own educational institution in the Reservation: its Community Educational Project, approved by Resolution 2046 of 31 May 2016, places it within the Indigenous Own Education System and organizes it in four campuses: San Miguel de la Castellana, La Florida, Blasiaku and Katzasu. The San Miguel de la Castellana school has been operating since 1914 and, according to the same document, 99% of its student population belongs to the Inga People. A song in the Inga language in the classroom is an example of the presence of the community's own language in the Reservation's school.
