Cultural practices and biodiversity of the ancestral territory
Video by the Inga Reservation of Albania, of Villagarzón (Putumayo), on the project for the recovery, planting, and maintenance of the ancestral craft palm Iraca to strengthen the cultural practices and biodiversity of the territory. With the voices of cabildo members (according to the video's captions, Marcela Buesaquillo, Aura Elina Descance, Miguel Ramos, Jose Mojanajinsoy, and Maria Ortega) and elders, it shows the teaching of broom weaving and iraca roofing to girls, boys, and young people, harmonization ceremonies with traditional medicine, walks through the forest, work mingas for cutting timber and preparing the land, the crossing of streams, and the planting of 913 iraca seeds on the banks of the Putumayo River and the La Raya stream. It closes with the Reservation's emblem, the phrase «Por la defensa de la autodeterminación, la unidad y la integridad cultural de nuestra comunidad», and the logos of BESNet, Climate Promise, and UNDP. We invite you to watch the full video on its original channel.
