Ruta al Sur: the Nariño Court ruling and the prior consultation coordination meetings

On 20 October 2023 the Administrative Court of Nariño overturned the first-instance decision and protected the right to prior consultation regarding the additional areas of certification 0826 of 2016 for the Villagarzón ring-road project. Between November and December 2023 the Directorate of the National Prior Consultation Authority, Ruta al Sur and the ANI held three coordination and preparation meetings, and on 22 December the Directorate informed the communities of the process.
