2026 Life Plan of the Albania Inga Indigenous Reservation, «Alli iuiarispa purisunchi nukanchipa alpamami»

The Inga Indigenous Reservation of Albania, located on the banks of the Putumayo and San Vicente rivers, in the township of Puerto Umbría (municipality of Villagarzón, Putumayo), has its 2026 Life Plan, «Alli iuiarispa purisunchi nukanchipa alpamami», which the document translates as «the journey of our memory in the territory». The final version is dated 26 August 2026, has 117 pages and covers a community of 141 people in 34 families, under the motto «For the defence of the autonomy, self-determination, unity and cultural integrity of our community».

The Life Plan is one of the eight that ACIMVIP agreed upon with the authorities of the Inga People of Villagarzón under the initiative «Indigenous Life Plan as an alternative for strengthening the self-government systems of eight communities of the Inga People of the municipality of Villagarzón», developed through an agreement with the Visión Amazonía Indigenous Pillar (PIVA-2024), with the support of the Visión Amazonía II Programme (REM Colombia II) and Patrimonio Natural. It was built in the community's own participatory spaces —territorial walks, tulpas and mingas de pensamiento—, with the permanent guidance of the elders and the participation of women leaders, former governors, young people and children.

The document is organized into eight «weavings»: territory; culture and traditional knowledge; self-government and Indigenous justice; health and traditional medicine; Indigenous education; livelihoods; women and family; and housing and sanitation. It closes with the action plan «Maki kuarisunchi tukuilla» («Let us all work hand in hand»), which defines for each weaving the problems, lines of action, programmes and projects, with short-, medium- and long-term timeframes from 2026 onwards.
