Gran Tierra Energy leaves Colombia and the consultation on the closure of the La Cabaña APE is still pending

Gran Tierra Energy announced on 5 August 2026 the sale of its business in Colombia and Ecuador, and ACIMVIP recalled that the La Cabaña APE, in Inga territory, is not a closed asset: the license is suspended, the decommissioning plan has not been approved and the prior consultation on the closure has not been held. ACIMVIP's appeal against Resolution ST-1471 of 2021, filed on 2 November 2022, is still awaiting a decision by the Ministry of the Interior. ACIMVIP asked the Ministry, the ANLA, the ANH and the companies to ensure that the sale does not transfer the operation's liabilities to the Inga People.
